We all know the saying “The world is your oyster.” It’s meant to be uplifting and full of promise. You can do anything, chase your dreams, go after opportunities. Beautiful, right? Except for one small problem… most people don’t actually like oysters.

On the latest Rob and Ash podcast, we unpacked this very serious issue. Why are we comparing life’s endless opportunities to something that looks like it just crawled out of the ocean and costs $36 for half a dozen?

Maybe it’s time for a modern upgrade. What about “The world is your apple”? Sweet, healthy, keeps the doctor away. Or “The world is your canvas”? Artistic and full of possibility. Honestly, anything sounds better than oyster.
