Faith, Gratitude and Finding Home: Nicole Scherzinger’s Tony Speech
Published This week on Lucy and Kel for Breakfast, Lucy played a moment that completely floored her, Nicole Scherzinger’s Tony Awards acceptance speech. Lucy was in tears. It wasn’t just a win for Nicole… it was a win for anyone who’s ever felt like they didn’t belong.
Nicole, now in her late 40s, took home Best Leading Actress in a Musical, and her voice cracked as she thanked God and reflected on her journey. “For a little Hawaiian, Ukrainian, Filipino girl who never quite felt like she fit in”, her words hit deep. She spoke about years of feeling misunderstood, of pop fame that never felt quite fulfilling, of holding on through disappointment and stalled dreams. And yet, she kept showing up. She kept believing God had a plan.
Her message was powerful: if you’re still waiting for your time, don’t stop showing up with love and light. That’s what finally brought her home, to the stage, to this moment, to herself.
Her final words? “Love always wins.”
