Lucy and Kel were joined by ambassador for Red Nose Day, Matt McConnell, who shared his powerful story and brought them both to tears. Every day across Australia, 9 babies and young children die suddenly and unexpectedly, and Matt knows firsthand this devastating loss.

When Matt speaks about his daughter Wren, there’s a quiet strength in his voice, the kind that can only come from love, loss, and the courage to keep showing up. Matt is using his story to raise awareness and help prevent other families from experiencing the unthinkable, and to make sure no one forgets little Wren.

This August, there are so many ways to get involved in Red Nose Day! You can host a fundraiser, make a donation, buy some merchandise or participate in a fitness challenge. Kind Aussies like you have raised over $18 million for vital research, saving 12,069 babies and reducing sudden infant deaths by 80%.

Matt’s story is a reminder that grief doesn’t always look the same. Sometimes it’s a quiet moment. And sometimes, it’s sharing your story on air so others know they’re not alone.

We honour Wren, and every little life held close in memory this Red Nose Day. Join the movement at rednoseday.org.au, because together, we can save little lives and support the families who carry love and loss every day.

If you missed it this morning you can catch up it on the Lucy & Kel Podcast
