None of us likes to be misled, duped, scammed. It’s awful, isn’t it? Yet, according to the Global Anti-Scam Alliance, last year scammers stole over one trillion US dollars globally from ordinary people like you and me.
Now, if you’re struggling to wrap your mind around that number – one trillion dollars – perhaps this’ll help. If you were to count to one trillion, one second at a time – one, two, three, four – no meal breaks, no rest … it’d take you just a bit under 32,000 years.
So, scams are big business with terrible consequences. Some have even lost their life savings to these unscrupulous criminals. Speaking of which, there’s one criminal out there perpetrating a much greater scam. He’s in the business of stealing not just your life savings, but your life.
Doubtless you’ve heard of Adam and Eve, created by God, given a perfect life in the Garden of Eden, with a completely free run of the place … except, they weren’t to eat from this one tree in the centre of the Garden – the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. But, along comes the scammer:
Genesis 3:4 … the snake said to the woman, “You will not die. God knows that if you eat the fruit from that tree you will learn about good and evil, and then you will be like God!”
Every scammer has a hook baited with an attractive proposition to sucker you in. The devil’s trick is to snag you into sin with a bait that’s custom- made especially for you.
Don’t bite, because eventually it’ll cost you your life.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
