What does it take to change a life? For some, it’s not clever arguments or long debates – it’s an undeniable encounter with the living God.

One of the most famous atheists of the 20th century, the author of the Narnia series C.S. Lewis, once called himself “the most reluctant convert in all England.” He wasn’t persuaded by sentiment, but by the relentless reality of God breaking through.

As he wrestled with truth, he realised the God he’d denied wasn’t just an idea but a Person. Encountering Christ changed everything – the sceptic became one of the greatest Christian writers of all time. 

King David of Israel had the same revelation:

2 Samuel 7:22 Lord GOD, this is why you are so great! There is no one like you. There is no god except you! We know that because of what we ourselves have heard about what you did.

The point is that David had seen God in action – and knew that there was no one like Him. That’s the heart of what American theologian and preacher R.C. Sproul once said when asked the difference between the Christian God and the gods of other religions: “The main difference is this – the God of Christianity exists.”

The God who exists is the God who acts. And in Christ, He has acted once and for all to rescue you. Don’t just know about Him. Experience Him. See Him at work in your life today. Because as you see Him in action, you too will be compelled to exclaim:

There is no one like you. There is no god except you!
