On the Lucy and Kel for Breakfast show, they got into a discussion on surnames…To change or not to change, that it the question!

Traditionally, women tend to adopt their husband’s last name but, when Lucy married Kel, she decided to keep her family name. She said that she’s always felt like a Holmes, telling Kel “I love being your wife, but I’m not Mrs McWilliam” and, as usual, Kel was completely unbothered.

The opposite is also true, with Kel mentioning that people could have a last name they’re not into and when they get married, they have the chance to get a better, cooler one. In a perfect world Lucy said she’d love to be known as Lucy Holmes McWilliam, but can’t be bothered completing all the paperwork! On the flip side, Lucy gets to keep her very cool last name.
