🎤 Meet Our Co-Host: Sidney

Sidney is a Melbourne-based indie-pop singer-songwriter whose music offers a soothing refuge through honesty, vulnerability, and emotional clarity. With a voice that feels soft and familiar like “your favourite linen”, she weaves bittersweet melodies with deeply personal lyrics, creating songs that are thought-provoking and soul-stirring.
In late 2025, Sidney dropped her emotionally charged single “what if it ends?”, announcing a seven-track EP of the same name set to release in February 2026. Written in the wake of major life moments, the track reflects the fear that comes with success, love, and uncertainty: “What if that was the peak? What if nothing ever tops this?” she says. The EP is deeply grounded in themes of relational tension, self-doubt, and the courage required to let go when holding on no longer feels right.
Sidney’s heart for connection and mental health comes through strongly in her debut EP, Imposter, where she openly shares her intimate experiences with anxiety and insecurity. Produced with Ben Oldland, Imposter includes extended moments of raw emotional honesty, especially in the final minute of the title track, which she says mirrors the overwhelming nature of her own anxiety.
While Sidney’s sound has broad appeal, her influences lean into the tender storytelling styles of Lizzy McAlpine, Gracie Abrams, and Madi Diaz – all reflected in her soft vocal delivery and expressive songwriting. She has shared stages with acts such as Gretta Ray and Angus & Julia Stone, and collaborated with artists including 360, GRAACE, and Eliott.
With a growing digital presence and a deeply engaged audience, Sidney continues to use her music as a platform to express what many feel but struggle to voice. Her work resonates especially with listeners navigating insecurity, identity, and mental health, offering both solace and solidarity. As she prepares to release new music, Sidney stands as one of Melbourne’s most honest and hopeful emerging voices.
