Lecrae’s journey isn’t just about music, it’s about life, growth, and the courage to rebuild. In a recent chat with Cam on The Daily, he shared the heart behind his latest album, Reconstruction, and the personal work that shaped it.
He reflects on public perception, saying, “I’m not as amazing as people think I am, and I’m not as terrible as people think I am. We’re human.” Surrounding himself with people who know and love him keeps him grounded, reminding him that authenticity matters more than perfection.
The album is about piecing life back together. Broken parts of faith, emotional health, and relationships all needed attention. “Sometimes you hit a wall, and you’re left with no choice but to face the harsh reality that something has to change,” he shares. Healing meant therapy, honest conversations, and a willingness to rebuild on a firm foundation.
Faith plays a central role. “Faith is the evidence of things unseen. When you have faith, you have hope. Faith fights anxiety because it believes in what cannot yet be seen.” Alongside faith, community, friends and family, help us push forward, even when life feels impossible.
Reconstruction isn’t just about fixing what’s broken. Lecrae reminds us, “Life is a book, and this may only be the first chapter. Your story’s not done. Keep going, keep pushing, and know that reconstruction is possible.”
As he brings Reconstruction to Australia this December, fans can expect moments of reflection, healing, and celebration. Lecrae’s music invites listeners to find peace in their own stories and joy in knowing that growth is always possible.
