Britt Nicole spoke to Cam on The Daily to discuss her first album in 10 years II II V (225), which released in November last year. She has spent the last seven years pouring her heart into the 22 songs that make up the album. She took Cam through the thematic parts that encapsulates the project.
The Bridge, The Crossing and The Promise, was created out of Britt feeling the album was incomplete after writing the first 10 songs which make up The Bridge. The names of the parts was intentional as Britt describes the album as showing the process of her creating music, with the album containing a mix of pop, gospel, RnB and raw moments of only her and the piano.
“Hopefully people listen from top to bottom, follow along and let it take them wherever God wants to take them.”
Her musical journey has been a slow one but at the end of the day Britt focuses on music that can connect with people, regardless of the success and fame it can bring. The response she got from fans last year during the album release was inspiring, as her socials blew up with people sharing their love and support.
