🎶 This Week on the Aus Music Showcase
Welcome to another episode of the Aus Music Showcase, your go-to program for the best in music from Australian Christian musicians. Each week, we bring you inspiring stories, uplifting songs, and the artists behind them.
This week we’re celebrating fresh new music from Australian artists, catching up with singer-songwriter and worship leader Elizabeth Rae, and shining a spotlight on a Brisbane artist quietly making his mark both on stage and behind the scenes.
🎤 Meet Our Co-Host: Elizabeth Rae
Elizabeth Rae is an Australian singer-songwriter, pianist, and worship leader whose music shines with hope, authenticity, and a deep sense of faith. Blending contemporary pop sensibilities with heartfelt storytelling, she creates songs that are both uplifting and deeply personal, inviting listeners into moments of reflection, joy, and connection with God.
Raised along the beautiful coastline of Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Elizabeth discovered her love for music at an early age, finding her voice through the piano and developing a passion for songwriting. Influenced by both her faith and the natural beauty of the Australian landscape, her music carries a warmth and sincerity that has become a defining feature of her artistry. Now based on a farm in Queensland’s Toowoomba region, Elizabeth continues to craft songs that feel bright and approachable while remaining grounded in meaningful messages of faith, hope, and purpose.
Over the years, Elizabeth has built an impressive performance career, appearing at corporate events, conferences, weddings, and ministry gatherings across Australia and internationally. Her notable appearances include regular guest artist performances on Wesley Impact TV on Channel Nine, live concerts in San Diego, California, and multiple performances at Easterfest between 2012 and 2014.
Following the release of her album Flowers in 2018, Elizabeth has continued to evolve her sound, embracing a fresh, modern pop style while remaining rooted in worship and faith-based songwriting. Most recently, she recorded a live night of worship, capturing the heart of her ministry and her passion for creating spaces where people can encounter God’s presence through music.

🌟 One to Watch: Matthew Paul Cooper
✨ My One To Watch this week is Brisbane artist, songwriter and producer Matthew Paul Cooper.
Emerging with a sound that feels both grounded and quietly expansive, Matthew Paul Cooper is an artist leaning into something thoughtful and deeply reflective. Blending indie-folk textures with a modern, melodic sensibility, his music carries a kind of stillness, the sort that invites you to slow down and sit with the story being told. But beyond his own releases, Matthew has also been quietly shaping the sound of others, building a reputation as a producer and songwriter with a real ear for authenticity.
Based in Brisbane, his production work spans a wide range of artists and projects, including collaborations with names like Ash Gale, Audium, Walking With Thieves, The Chards, LOS LEO, and Tahlia Pesu, as well as faith-based projects with artists like Amariah Collard and Caitlyn Chaplin. Whether he’s behind the desk or out front, there’s a consistent thread: a desire to draw out the heart of a song and let it breathe.
His latest release, Evergreen, feels like a natural extension of that ethos, a gentle reflection on constancy in the midst of change. There’s a warmth to it, both musically and lyrically, that mirrors its title: steady, enduring, and quietly hopeful. With soft, unhurried instrumentation and a sense of space that lets every lyric land, Evergreen is the kind of track that lingers long after it ends.
With a growing body of work both as an artist and behind the scenes, Matthew Paul Cooper is building something intentional and deeply resonant, and he’s absolutely one to watch.
