As heard on The Daily with Cam Want
Carly Ann Taylor’s voice is impossible to ignore, soulful, honest, and full of heart. Her major label debut, Why Should I Worry?, was born from a quiet piano moment with her sister, and now it’s ready to inspire listeners everywhere.
Music has always been in Carly’s blood. Her grandfather, Larry “The Mole” Taylor, played bass for Canned Heat at Woodstock, and her great uncle Mel drummed for surf rock legends The Ventures. Yet Carly’s journey hasn’t been defined by legacy, it’s been a path of faith and restoration.
At 15, Carly accepted Jesus, and Christian music became her anchor. “It transformed my life,” she says. Her new song grew from a season of uncertainty and searching for God’s guidance. Inspired by Matthew 6, Carly asked, Why should I worry? a question that became the heartbeat of her song.
Her story is one of redemption. After a turbulent early life, a life-changing reunion with her older brother led to adoption, a new family, and a profound encounter with God. “I learned that love isn’t earned, it’s given. I’m loved for who I am, and that reflects Jesus’ sacrificial love,” she shares.
Why Should I Worry? is more than a debut, it’s a reminder that even in our darkest seasons, God’s love transforms, restores, and gives hope. Carly’s story is proof that no matter where we start, we can be loved back to life and step confidently into our purpose.
