On TheDaily show, Cam caught up with Alexander Pappas to talk about his newly released EP Sunday.

Alex,  world-renowned worship leader, songwriter, and a founding member of the twice GRAMMY-nominated band Hillsong Young & Free, described how since a silent revival began in young people experiencing church and connecting with God, he felt a need to be a part of this new movement.

“These songs are also my offering into this space.”

He said that making this EP was a chance for him to show how much value the day Sunday and worshipping has, and broke it down to Cam using the metaphor of how sports professionals don’t just play their sport, they spend hours training for it. The brief moments we have at church are times in the presence of God, training and being challenged by him, to prepare us for the ‘big game’ that is life.

The title of the EP was deliberately chosen so people can take it anywhere with them, in moments when they need to step back and put trust in Jesus, and encourage them to keep going when life gets tough. The selection process of the 6 songs that make up the EP was a real test of Alex’s creativity, as he wanted to bring something new and fresh.

“I’m grateful in many ways that it took 2-3 years for this all to come together, but really excited to bring this offering.”

The pair went through each one of the songs, uncovering stories behind them, what they mean to Alex and what it was like collaborating with Chelsea Plank for It Is So Sweet.
